With profound grief and deep sorrow, we inform the sad and untimely demise of IC-75327A Maj Sarthak Tyagi (30 Yrs) on 28 Apr 2020 at his home in Ghaziabad (UP) where he was staying with his parents.  He was under treatment for NMO Spectrum disorder (antibody positive) at Army hospital (R&R), Delhi Cantt.

                Born on 18 Sep 1989, he was commissioned into the Regiment on 11 Jun 2011 and posted to 6/11 GR.  He was an outstanding Sportsman and, under his guidance, the Battalion football team had won a number of formation level championship.  His contribution to train the Ghatak platoon of the unit is praiseworthy.

            He was doing exceedingly well in service.  He had got Instructors grading in all Army Courses and was adjudged Second Best Student on JC Course.  He was with the unit in OP Meghdoot and had performed well on the highest battle field of the world.  Besides, as ADC to Lt Gen Rakesh Sharma, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC (Retd) the then COR, his performance in Ladakh had been very commendable.

            Maj Sarthak Tyagi was tall, smart and handsome officer who was like by his seniors and juniors.  His unflinching and dedicated service to the Battalion shall be remembered forever and the void created due to his demise be difficult to fill
